April 1 may be full of pranks and jokes for a lot of people, but it’s fairly limited when it comes to new release movies.
“Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” headlines the week in home media releases. The Blu-ray combo pack includes an unrated cut in addition to the theatrical version, while the DVD only release only includes the theatrical cut. Also included in the Blu-ray release is the so-called ‘supersize’ version, which is advertised as containing an additional 763 jokes.
Joining Will Ferrell's return as Ron Burgundy is Keanu Reeves fantasy/action film “47 Ronin," available in both 2D and 3D varieties. The film has been almost universally panned since its Christmas release, so it’s probably best to stay as far away as possible.
2006 musical “Once” makes its Blu-ray debut in the US, available exclusively through amazon.com. After widespread critical acclaim and years of only being available as an import from the UK, it should prove to be at least a moderate success with fans of the film and those who have been waiting to see it in a high definition US release.
