Novus Citrus Chamomile

I had the pleasure of stopping in at the Blue Spoon Creamery Cafe in Prairie du Sac, WI as I was returning to Madison from Baraboo for a hot cup of tea. I have been to the Blue Spoon Creamery Cafe many times in the past to enjoy a glass of wine, a veggie sandwich or a bowl of delicious soup. I knew the routine of placing my order at the counter.

I requested a hot cup of tea, since the temperature outside was in the single digits. The young woman, behind the counter, handed me a tray with a cup of hot water and a little tea pot, which contained extra hot water. She instructed me to select a tea from the assortment sitting on the counter. I was looking for a soothing caffeine-free tea. As I  looked through the various selections in the wooden box, I also noticed a separate display of Novus teas. I set my sites on finding just the right tea to suit my mood.

The Novus Citrus Chamomile herb tea sounded like it was just what I needed. As usual the chamomile was calming, but with a taste of lemongrass, which brought a pleasing citrus flavor. The combinations of flavors were delightful.

What I also liked about this brand is it provides loose leaf tea in a nylon pyramid shaped tea bag.  By using this type of tea bag, it removes the use of a strainer and helps the leaves to reach their full-flavor potential.

There are a variety of flavors offered by Novus and I intend to try more in the near future.  I will keep you informed of the other varieties.
