Novotel NY's 'in the money' martini recipe is right on the money

Searching for a well made classic gin martini can be a challenge, sometimes. So, it's often no surprise that when bartenders attempt some sort of twist, the results are less than stellar. Not in this case. This cocktail is spirit forward, but balanced. And, there's just the right amount of cinnamon flavor to let you know it's there, without dominating the sip. A perfect martini for the wintertime.

It's even better from the bar inside Novotel NY, SuperNova, which has an enviable view of Times Square, perfect for the ball drop.

  • 1 oz gin
  • ½ oz Dolin dry vermouth
  • 1 T apple brandy
  • 1 T cinnamon syrup
  • 1 maraschino cherry, for garnish


1. Fill a martini glass with ice to chill.

2. In a mixing glass, combine the gin, vermouth, brandy, and syrup, and stir.

3. Discard the ice, and strain the cocktail into the glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.

Serves: 1
