Jerome Arizona Art Walk on November 2nd, 2013 offers the perfect post-Halloween night. If you missed the legendary Halloween costume party in Jerome, enjoy a more sedate but equally as entertaining night in this mile high town. Twenty-six studios and galleries will host openings and happenings throughout the artist colony. From the Old Jerome High School studios to The New State Motor Company with the Patrick Lincoln Gallery, art, music and lively conversation are everywhere. Enjoy great food in wonderful restaurants and maybe even spend the night at one of the lodging choices. Park your car and take the shuttle or stroll the winding streets on a cool fall night. Art Walk festivities are from 5 to 8pm on the first Saturday of every month. It is not too early to think about buying art for holiday gifts. The Jerome Artists Cooperative’s continuing "Our Glass Obsession" show will be on display through the end of November, featuring the stained glass of Fred Reinhardt and the fused glass work of Isabel Matthieson. This delightful gallery of local artists is an ever-changing venue for the very best of The Verde Valley.
Gallery 527 welcomes back ceramic artist Mary Phoenix, returning from a four year adventure in Asheville, NC where her work is sold at A Gardener's Place at the esteemed Biltmore Estate. Mary continues her show “ Lizards and Leaves”, featuring her lovely, organic ceramic work filled with the essence of nature in all its glory. This talented local favorite is debuting new work including wall sconces adorned with nature's bounty. Grape leaves, lizards, twigs, and textured embellishments, all make these fascinating one of a kind pieces remarkable and collectible art. Well known for her fabulous female torsos, three new works will be hanging in the gallery on November 2nd, including a rose embellished sensual creation. This season, owls have joined her menagerie of creatures made in her Clarkdale studio. A series of functional ceramic mugs will also be shown along with a sculptural giant leaf with an iguana.
