Preview original artworks that will be included in the Demuth Museum’s 15th Auction for Artists and Collectors, which will be held on Thursday, 7 November. The preview will be held at 116 E. King Street. In addition, the current exhibition, The Art of Sound: Selected Works of Harry Bertoia will also be shown in the Museum. Bertoia is considered to be a pioneering artist and designer of the twentieth century.
Bradley Camerote, Elm, Tina Flowers, Joshua Geesaman, Lana Gentry, Judeth Pekala Hawkins, Jeff Kromer, Paul Lambert, Philip Malachowski, Salina Mayloni Almanzar, Kristen Oberly, Liz Randler (aka Elizabeth Joy), Maggie Rehr, and Eric Weit are just some of the artists featured this month at the Mulberry Art Studios. They artists will be featured in a month long exhibit called 'STRAY Exhibition No. 1.'
The Annex 24 Gallery also offers a varied showing. The Gallery, located at 24 W Walnut Street, displays sculptures, photography, paintings, wearable textiles, and more during its “Winter Exposition.”
Designers Nancy Skolos and Thomas Wedell return to Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D) as the featured artists in the First Friday exhibit “Skolos and Wedell: A Poster Retrospective.” The exhibit will run through January. PCA&D is located at 204 N Prince Street.
Originals by Paris Wyatt Llanso will be featured for First Friday at Christiane a Paris, 113 N Water Street. Just John & Britt, an acoustic blues/folk duo, will play during the 5 – 9 p.m. free event.
Apparently it is not too early to think about Christmas, at least not at the Gallery on Market. Cindy Schlosser and Joel Bare will be displaying fall to Christmas décor. The Gallery on Market is located at 15 W King Street.
Julia Swartz has captured various landscapes depicting her recent travels. Her exhibit “Quebec City to Maine” will be featured this month in the Julia Swartz Gallery, 17 N Prince Street.
Ann Lawson, a fine arts painter who works predominantly in mixed media abstract art, will be the featured guest artist at Franz Fox Studios this month, beginning with First Friday. The studio is located at 136 N Prince Street.
The iconic red umbrella of Liz Hess has traversed through Lancaster City, taking in both the historic and the every day sites the City has to offer. “The Lancaster City Collection” is Hess’ latest series of originals watercolors, acrylics and pastels. The Liz Hess Gallery is located at 140 N Prince Street.
First Friday generally runs 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the first Friday of each month. Franklin & Marshall College is the presenting sponsor this month. Annual sponsors are Capital Blue Cross, Auntie Anne’s, and the Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority. This is merely a sampling of tonight’s venues. It is by no means an inclusive list.
