On November 1, Albuquerque’s Sunshine Theater welcomes Soulfly, Havok, and Echoes of Fallen. Doors for this all-ages event are scheduled to open at 7 p.m., with the first band taking the stage at 8 p.m. Tickets $23.
Formed in 1977, Brazil’s (but based in Phoenix, Arizona) Soulfly play groove metal with facets of nu-metal and thrash metal. The band is led by Max Cavalera, who once fronted the mighty Sepultura [http://sepultura.com/]. Soulfly’s latest full-length studio CD is titled Enslaved.
Hailing from Belen and Albuquerque, Echoes of Fallen play a combination of ripping death metal and punishing grindcore. The band’s self-titled demo was released in 2007.
