The Town of Rockville is so small, it doesn’t have enough citizens to fill its elected offices, seems like. This coastal town of 140 residents needs to fill four town council seats, according to the League of Women Voters, but only three candidates registered.
For Town Council in Rockville, the candidates are the incumbent Allen Holmes, Henry Holst and Zachary Nelson.
Councilman Brad Rumph chose not to seek re-election, and neither did Mayor Mary Ann Cates.
Riley Bradham II, a former town councilman, is the only candidate for mayor.

Seabrook Island is also a small town, just above Rockville on the southern coastline of Charleston County, but at least has a candidate for every office open to election on November 8.
Mayor William Holtz is up for re-election with no opponent.
Councilman Terrence Ahearn, G. Jeremy Cummin and Samuel Reed also seek re-election. The fourth council seat is left open by Dr. Robert Savin, who chose not to run again; that remaining at-large seat is open to candidate Ronald J. Ciancio.
James Bannwart is unopposed in his bid for utility commissioner.

The Town of Ravenel joins Seabrook Island in having only one candidate for every office that will appear on the November 8 ballots.
Opal Baldwin runs unopposed for re-election of mayor of the small town just south of Charleston.
The three candidates for the three at-large town council seats are the incumbents Annie Brown and Curtis Inabinet Jr., along with Wendell Maxwell.
