The Goldbergs (ABC, 9 p.m.) - "Call Me When You Get There" - When Barry (Troy Gentile) receives his first driver’s license, Beverly (Wendy McLendon-Covey) lays out the rules about using the car, including the most important… “Call me when you get there!” After Barry disobeys his mother and gets in trouble, he takes Erica’s (Haley Orrantia) advice to not tell the truth about his whereabouts-- no matter where he is-- the next time he calls home… but it backfires.
Supernatural (The CW, 9 p.m.) - "Dog Dean Afternoon" - While investigating two bizarre murders, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) realize there is an eyewitness to both gruesome deaths-- a German Sheppard. Anxious to find out if they are dealing with a witch, a skinwalker or other supernatural monster, the guys look up a spell that could let Dean “communicate” with the dog. Unfortunately, the spell comes with side effects that no one saw coming.
Trophy Wife (ABC, 9:30 p.m.) - "The Date" - When Kate (Malin Akerman) and Pete (Bradley Whitford) host a party, Jackie (Michaela Watkins) crashes and hooks up with Pete’s co-worker Sad Steve (guest star Nat Faxon), much to Pete’s discomfort. However, when Sad Steve decides to pursue a relationship with Jackie, both Kate and Pete jump on the bandwagon to give young love a boost. Meanwhile, Hillary (Bailee Madison) helps Warren (Ryan Scott Lee) and Bert (Albert Tsai) put together a Gum Show live stream, and Diane (Marcia Gay Harden) faces off with Meg (Natalie Morales) after she posts an unflattering picture of her on Instagram.
The Mindy Project (FOX, 9:30 p.m.) - "Sk8er Man" - Mindy (Mindy Kaling) goes on a date with a free-spirited skateboarder (guest star Timothy Olyphant) because Danny (Chris Messina) tells her she's too picky and judgmental. Meanwhile, Jeremy's dad comes to visit but takes more of a liking to Peter (Adam Pally) than his own son.
