“Nothing to be Done” and “View Find” open at Page Bond Gallery Friday

An opening reception will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, January 20 for “Nothing to be Done” and “View Find.”

“Nothing to be Done,” a solo exhibition of new work, resulted from artist Clover Archer Lyle’s use of a discarded book and editing of all type except for letters that spelled out the dialogue in Samuel Beckett’s 1949 play “Waiting for Godot.”

“Lyle demonstrates that, though entirely different, this way of reading and interpreting a book is just as legitimate and no more subjective than conventional modes of analysis,” the gallery released in a statement.

“View Find” includes the works of national, international and regional photographers such as Holly Morrison, Gordon Stettinius, William Wylie, Emmet Gowin and more.

The exhibit will be on display through Saturday, February 25.

Page Bond Gallery is located at 1625 West Main Street, and can be reached at 804/ 359-3633. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
