Notable Chicago basketball players return to show support against cancer

Former Austin high school standout, Brandon Cox's second annual BLC Live Life Cancer Foundation charity basketball game will be on August 30 at St. Catherine Church (38 N. Austin Blvd).

Cox started the foundation because of those impacted by cancer, including his own family, having lost eight relatives in the past six years. The game is just a way to bring people together for a greater cause.

“Cancer is taking people away from this world in so many different ways,” Cox said. "I’m basically using basketball as a tool to reach out to people.”

WGCI's Toni Scufield will host the game and the sounds will be provided by DJ Ransom.

Tip off starts at 6:00 PM and entry is free for all guests. Those interested can keep up to date with the event by visiting Cox's Foundation Facebook page or his Instagram. You can also contact the foundation at
