Every year at this time, all across the United States, people join together by the hundreds to take part in the Walk MS in their communities and, though most have already been thinking of it and have been busy prepping for a month or so now; it is still not too late to help those with multiple sclerosis (MS).

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) has been signing up ‘walkers’ since 1988 and have stated they’ve been able to raise $770 million to date.

That was made possible through events like 'Walk MS' where those who have the disease, their family and friends and those who give their time volunteering all come together to make it a day so many can remember with a smile.

Portions of the donated money given is for much needed programs to help improve quality of life. From professional counseling and services for the homebound to opportunities to ride horses, rafting, kayaking and, on top of all that, they can help provide daycare services and college scholarships!

Funds are also given towards much needed research as well. The NMSS just announced last month they were able to approve $29 million in new research with researchers who are looking at dietary salt, adult stem cells and gut bacteria among other incredible studies.

Anyone can still call the Ohio Buckeye chapter at toll free 1-800-344-4867 for more information on how to participate.
