Not geeky enough? 'Geek Therapy' web series is here to help

A smart and clever new web-series called "Geek Therapy" is slowly gaining popularity on YouTube. It's a short form series following a specialized therapist who helps patients bring out their inner geek.

Shot entirely in one small office, the series is about a Geek Therapist (played by the adorable America Young, who also produces) working her magic to help those who want to become better geeks, or councils them when their geek obsessions become too much. Every episode is bubbling with references to geek culture, ranging from gaming to cosplay to comics. Whether it's a woman who can only speak in movie quotes, a former jock desperate to impress geek girls, or a catatonic woman in mourning for Steve Jobs, the Geek Therapist tackles each problem that comes her way with patience and professionalism, ready for any situation.

There are a few familiar faces popping up (at least if you watch as much internet content as I do), such as Teal Sherer and J. Teddy Garces from The Guild, and Casey McKinnon from A Comicbook Orange. The series is directed by Emily McGregor, with scripts by McGregor, Young, Eric Campbell, and Erika Cervantes. Eight episodes have aired so far on the Comediva channel on YouTube, each 2-4 minutes in length.
