It’s not always easy being in a relationship. Whether you come from a small Bryant, Indiana (population 255) or reside in a large city like Indianapolis (over 850,000) relationship trials are pretty much the same. You meet someone you want to get to know better so you start “dating”.
You go out on the town or perhaps one of you cooks dinner for the other one. As things progress you spend more time together, perhaps even fall in love. Sooner or later you realize that you don’t see eye to eye on everything. You may have different taste in music, food or even how to live. The question then becomes what makes this relationship worth looking past those differences?
After all, everyone looks at things differently. Do we embrace those differences or ignore them. From personal experience I can honestly say ignoring them is a bad idea. Over reacting to the difference is also a bad idea. So where does this leave you?
It leaves you human. In every relationship there are going to be differences. The sooner you learn about compromise and what’s really worth making a big deal over the better off your relationship will be. If you realize up front that the “new” or puppy love phase will eventually wear off, then you won’t be smacked in the face later with the differences between the two of you. After all if we were all the same life would be boring.
