Norwegian Princess Märtha Louise jumps from airplane

HH Princess Märtha Louise of Norway completed a tandem sky dive this week to draw attention to a Norwegian charity.  The charity, supported by the Norwegian Sports Association, aims to show that disabled people can be more active and participate in sports they might not think.  In addition to the tandem jump the charity is supporting two disabled men ride a hand-cycle across Norway in the summer.  The two men making the cross-country ride joined the Princess on the jump.  This was not the Princess’ first jump, but she did admit to being a little jittery.  She said: “The worse was right after we had jumped out of the plane, then it was a little scary, but then it was too late to do anything.”  Her first jump was a gift for her 18th birthday.  She was confident she would be able to do it again but said “It’s like when you’re sitting on top of a roller-coaster ride.  You are right on top of the biggest fall, so you think ‘why did I do this again?’” The campaign started on April 24th and the goal is to recruit 500 more participants.
