Northport K-8 recognized as a certified Natural Wildlife Sanctuary (Photos)

Taking time to observe the beauty and fascination of wildlife in a natural habitat can compel individuals and groups to reach out and protect that which is so beautiful (and in many cases, majestic) yet today, in the environment we live wildlife has become so vulnerable mainly due to pollution and lack of respect for the natural elements which composed life from the earth’s beginning. A miracle has prevailed in those that have, those that are, and those who will take a stance to ensure the protection and perseverance of wildlife conservation.

Northport K-8 School has been recognized as a certified Natural Wildlife Sanctuary by the Natural Wildlife Federation. As it appears in the LUCIE LINKS NEWSLETTER: The mission of the federation is to inspire Americans to protect wildlife for our children’s future. Thanks to the hard work of many of the Northport K-8 teachers and staff, as well as students and their families, the school enjoys a beautiful and thriving natural habitat for many species of butterflies and gorgeous plants as well as gardens filled with plants and flora that are particular to the state of Florida.

Northport K-8 is a part of the St. Lucie County School District.
