Northern Highlands defeated IHA 52-42 in the final four of the BCWCA Bergen County Tournament. Northern Highlands faces Teaneck next weekend in the championship.

Northern Highlands came out strong against IHA. With 4:19 left in the first quarter they led 7-2. IHA looked for their outside shot, which was not falling. Northern Highlands looked to work the ball inside. At the end of the first quarter they led 16-6.

Northern Highland's Melissa Heath was a major force inside. She had 6 rebounds, 1 blocked shot, 1 steal, and 21 points. From her 21 points, she was 13 of 14 from the foul line.

At the half time, Northern Highlands led 25-21. IHA's Lindsey Rogers worked hard to box out. She also anticipated the ball to earn steals. She had 6 rebounds, 4 steals, 1 assist, 1 blocked shot, and 8 points. IHA began to make a come back and trailed by 1 point, 31-30, with 2:23 remaining in the third quarter. At the end of the third quarter Northern Highlands led 36-35.

Northern Highland's Madison Dunbar read the defense well and found open teammates. She had 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals, and 16 points. In the fourth quarter, IHA's Stephanie Olear hit two foul shots to give them their first lead in the game, 37-36. At 5:46 Northern Highlands' Caroline Lovisolo tied the game back up, 38-38. With 4:18 remaining IHA's Katia Oge hit a foul shot to earn IHA back the lead, 39-38. Oge had 4 rebounds, 1 blocked shot, 2 steals, and 7 points.

With 3:30 remaining Heath scored, 40-39, Northern Highlands in the lead. Rogers' scored and drew the foul. She hit the foul shot and IHA was in the lead 42-40, with 3:09 remaining. Heath tied to back up again with two foul shots, 42-42, with 2:45 remaining.

With under 2 minutes, Dunbar scored two baskets, giving Northern Highlands a four point lead, 46-42. IHA attempted to foul to stop the clock, but it sent Northern Highlands to the line and increased their lead.
