Florida is a great warm place to be while the northern states are being canvassed by snow storms. However, Orlando’s Local 6 reported that you don’t have to be in New York to be stuck in the snow. In addition to the people trying to fly out of the Northeast, thousands more have been stranded or delayed at airports across the country due to their arrival airport being closed. On Saturday, Feb. 9th the FAA Flight Delay information center reports delays for Bradley International Airport (BDL), General Edward Lawrence Logan International Airport (BOS) and Long Island Mac Arthur Airport (ISP), all due to snow.
All modes of transportation have been delayed due to the high wind gusts and a blinding blizzard which has already left one person dead and more than half a million people without power in nine states. Government authorities are continuing to warn residents to stay indoors and stay off of roads.
Of course if all else fails travelers could stay a few days more and enjoy the warmth of the Orlando sun. For more news, photos and information on travel follow the Orlando Disney Travel Examiner or follow this writer on Twitter.
