An anonymous man has made his way out onto the streets of Northampton, England and appears to be trying his best to welcome everyone and wish them a good day. Unfortunately, his presence appears to have the opposite reaction since he's dressed like a clown. The Inquisitr reported on Sept. 16, 2013, that the Northampton Clown has made a name for himself, and not in a good way.
“He doesn’t juggle. He doesn’t twist balloons into animal shapes. He just stares," reports the Northampton Herald and Post.
The small town about 60 miles outside of London has recently been scared to death by the clown that just keeps showing up. The man is dressed in full make-up and a red wig, holding balloons, and sometimes a stuffed teddy bear.
His first known appearance was on Friday the 13th.
The Northampton Clown has drawn quite a cult following already. A Facebook page called "Spot Northampton's Clown" was created on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, and already has close to 70,000 followers. The hashtag - #northamptonclown - has been trending for days on Twitter.
The Facebook page is run as if the Northampton Clown himself does it. He said he doesn't use Twitter because it confuses him. He has also let people know that he doesn't have a knife on him and believes there is "Too much hate, not enough love."
Some of the messages on the Facebook page are a bit creepier:
"For those of you with phobias and fears, you don't have to like and comment on this page. See you around soon."
There is a police warning out around Northampton that started due to some citizens being concerned. A couple of teenagers have been spotted running around in clown make-up, but there is only one true Northampton Clown, and he doesn't seem to really be bothering anyone.
