Ordained in June 1990, Woelmer celebrated with the Faith Plano and Wylie congregations on August 22, 2010 with a meal and presentation honoring the pastor.

Born in Monroe, Michigan, Woelmer was baptized and confirmed at East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church in Monroe. In 1990, he was also ordained at Immanuel Lutheran. Woelmer attended Michigan State University and farmed for several years before graduating from Concordia College in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Woelmer also holds a Master of Divinity Degree from Concordia Theological Seminary and a Master's Degree in Family Life from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. Prior to serving at Faith Lutheran, he was pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Madison, Nebraska. Woelmer was installed as associate pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in September 2002. He became senior pastor of the church in January 2007.

"We are blessed to have Rev. Woelmer as the senior pastor of our church," said Faith Lutheran Church Associate Pastor Rev. Jacob Sutton of Plano.
