North Texas craft beer events, week of August 18

Examiner picks of the week
Examiner picks of the week
Holy Grail Pub, Bird Cafe, Flying Saucer, Common Table, Chill Sports Bar, Cook Hall

Since someone is going to say it...I'll just say it for you...this week is going to be epic. Why? The Utah-based Epic Brewing Company begins distribution to the Metroplex, and area establishments will be celebrating the brewery's arrival with special events. Check the schedule below for launch parties at the Common Table, as well as at Flying Saucer locations in Addison and Garland.

Something else worth celebrating is the fifth anniversary of the Holy Grail Pub in Plano. Festivities include nightly tappings through the week, as well as the return of Smoke Out at the Grail this weekend. Among the beers expected to be available are Lakewood Bourbon Barrel Temptress and the ultra-rare Deschutes Jubel 2010.

Elsewhere, beer dinners featuring local breweries are also on the calendar. On Monday, Community will be in the spotlight at Bird Café, while Grapevine will be featured at Chill Sports Bar on Wednesday. In addition, Lakewood will provide brews for pairings occurring at Red Hot & Blue in Dallas on Tuesday and Cook Hall on Friday.
