North Sound SeaWolves, British European Soccer Training to Host Youth Camp

EDMONDS, Wash. — North Sound SeaWolves FC will team with British European Soccer Training (B.E.S.T.) to put on the SeaWolves Spring Camp for youth ages 8 to 11. The five-week camp will take place Fridays from March 16th to April 13th at Mariner High School (200 120th St. SW, Everett, WA 98204).

The cost of the camp will be $90 and includes a camp t-shirt.

“I’m excited about this camp,” SeaWolves owner/coach Alex Silva said. “We’ve partnered with some great organizations to put together a first-class experience where kids will get high-level coaching while having fun. It’s great for us to be able to reach out to the community in this way.”

The camp will focus on building both soccer skills as well as physical fitness and coordination through fun drills and games that emphasize quickness, balance, teamwork  and real-time thinking.

“Sportsmanship and teamwork are two things we emphasize with the SeaWolves and that’s something we will emphasize in the camps as well,” Silva said. “Each player will get direct individual instruction as well as working within a team concept.”

British European Soccer Training has been providing outstanding coaching for youth in the United States and Europe for nearly 20 years. B.E.S.T. (www.usabestsoccer.com) was established by former Porstmouth F.C. player and coach David Pettican to provide specialized instruction in both individual and team play.

Silva said Darrel Marcelle will be the camp director. Marcelle holds a United States Soccer Federation “A” license as well as a Youth National license and has experience coaching in Italy as well as a top club program in Virginia before moving to the Pacific Northwest, where he has been a Region 1 Olympic Developmental Program coach for four years.

Silva also noted that Mukilteo Youth Soccer club will provide the facilities for the camp and Everett Physical Therapy will provide fitness education to all campers.

Registration forms for the camp are available on the SeaWolves website (www.seawolvesfc.com) and campers are encouraged to apply soon as space will be limited.

The Edmonds-based SeaWolves are a member of the Premier Development League, the highest level of amateur soccer in the United States. The club begins its second season in April.
