Astonishing is humankind’s ability to fabricate advanced weapon technology that can destroy the earth while fantasizing their ability to survive the consequences of using it. Cases in point: North Korea and Iran.
While North Korea pursues advanced nuclear weapon testing, the leadership speak about their victorious deployment and use of destructive force that will conclude with a “reunified” Korea. Very sad and most absurd.
“It also said that the party leadership promised to "stage a high-intensity, all-out action, and maximize its preparation ... so that just after an order is issued, we can destroy and sweep America and the South Korean puppet army, and achieve the historic achievement of reunified Korea."

Would it do any good for China to host a meeting between the US and North and South Korea to discuss the consequences of all out war and use of nuclear weapons. Would it do any good to describe in detail how the North and South would be enveloped in a nuclear polluting conflagration that would also kill millions of Chinese people by accidental consequence? Would it do any good to explain that North and South Korea would be so spoiled by war that it would take thousands of years for the place recover sufficiently to rehost humanity that has been swept away by ignorant generations past?
It is worth a try to explain it.
Updated reaction to the successful test:
"Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the North should "abandon its nuclear arms programme", and he called for the revival of talks on the issue
South Korea's presidential national security adviser, Chun Young-woo, said the test was an "unacceptable threat to the security of the Korean peninsula and north-east Asia... and a challenge to the whole international community"
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said it was a "grave threat" to Japanese security and could "not be tolerated"
Nato described the test as an "irresponsible act" and a "grave threat to international and regional peace, security and stability"
Britain called for a "robust response" from the UN Security Council
French President Francois Hollande condemned the test and said Paris would back firm action by the UN Security Council"
