North Korea trashes America in propaganda film

A video posted to YouTube shows how North Korea brainwashes its people into believing Americans have it worse than they do and that life in the US is a nightmare of crime, drugs, homelessness and gun-crazy, homosexual citizens.

The video, posted on March 10, 2013, would be hilarious if it weren't so scary. Using what looks like news footage of various natural disasters, the out-of-context content is translated into English by a man with a British accent.

Incredibly, some of the footage was obviously shot in a European country, as evidenced by the advertisements seen in several quick snatches. Harping continually about Americans "drinking snow" instead of coffee, most of the scenes appear to have been filmed in Russia, either after a disaster struck or as documentation of their own daily routines.

Another bizarre claim is that Americans eat birds "on Tuesday" and that is why several of the images show snow-laden, birdless trees.

The video closes on a supposed group of kind-hearted North Korean volunteers handing out real coffee and cake to grateful American citizens left apathetic by the rampant poverty and crime in the US.
