In a shocking move North Korea has threatened the United States with a pre-emptive nuclear strike. Today, March 7, 2013, CBS News has reported, North Korea vows nuclear strike against U.S. On Thursday, just hours ahead of a scheduled vote by U.N. diplomats on whether to hit Pyongyang with new sanctions for its recent nuclear test, North Korea vowed to launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike against the United States.
An unidentified spokesman for Pyongyang's Foreign Ministry has said North Korea will exercise its right for "a preemptive nuclear attack to destroy the strongholds of the aggressors" because Washington has been pushing to start a nuclear war against the North. However, it is not thought North Korea actually has developed the ability to produce a warhead which is small enough to put on a missile capable of reaching the U.S. North Korea is however believed to have enough nuclear fuel for several crude nuclear devices.

On Thursday the U.N. Security Council voted unanimously for tough new sanctions to punish North Korea for its latest nuclear test, as an angry Pyongyang threatened a nuclear strike against the United States.These sanctions, which were drafted by North Korea's closest ally, China, and the United States, have sent a powerful message that the international community condemns Pyongyang's ballistic missile and nuclear tests, and repeated violations of Security Council resolutions.
