North Jersey Blast 5/6 team earns fourth place

The North Jersey Blast 5th and 6th grade team placed fourth in the youth basketball league in Westwood, NJ.

The North Jersey Blast 5th and 6th grade team finished the regular season with a record of 6-5. They played the NJ Sparks in the first round of the play-offs and lost in a close game, 28-19.

Mollie Brueggemeier is one of the best 6th graders in Bergen County. She can dribble, shoot, is an outstanding passer, and knows how to set up defenders with the Euro Step. She has an extremely high basketball IQ and is an outstanding communicator. This is a player to watch.

Point guard Meaghan Bogart is a great dribbler and passer. She takes smart shots. She can draw defenders to her and make passes to outside players. She knows how to lead a fast break.

Maura Bednarcik is a good shooter. She often finished games as the high scorer.

Charley Martin knows where to be and when to be there. She is a smart defender and good scorer.

Kelsey Urmanowicz can contest shots on the three-point line and cut to receive the ball.

Anna McDermott is quick and can pressure the ball.

Lauren Montgomery is strong. She can rebound, shoot, and pass.

Lauren Lisicia has strong fundamentals. She tries to use the appropriate hand at the appropriate times. She has good form.
