North Jersey Blast 13u won the youth league championship

The North Jersey Blast Red Team won the championship of the youth basketball league in Westwood, NJ.

The NJB Red Team seeded 1st to enter the play-offs with a record of 8-0.

They had a bye for the first round. In the second round they defeated IYB Sparks and in the championship game they defeated Glen Rock.

Seventh grader Emma Plutnicki won MVP. Emma did a phenomenal job during this game of passing, cutting, playing help defense, and looking for scoring opportunities. Emma is also a team captain who has great leadership skills and communicates with teammates before, during, and after the games.

The North Jersey Blast experienced the following highlights during the season:

  • April 13, 2014, defeating IYB Sky, 57-26
  • April 27, 2014, defeating IYB Sparks, 42-12
  • May 4, 2014, defeating Old Tappan 7/8, 43-18
  • May 25, 2014, defeating Glen Rock, 56-16
