It seems that if you know good Lebanese food, you know Skaf's in North Hollywood. The restaurant is located in an assuming corner shopping center. When you walk in the place it has an air of regulars, people who know exactly what they want and the friendly owner remembers their favorite. My introduction to Skaf's is by a friend who happens to be a regular. She repeatedly requested that I consider reviewing the restaurant. Skaf's is a pleasant and affordable surprise. Nothing on the menu is over $15,
Classic Lebanese comfort food is on the menu including Baba Ghannouj (roasted eggplant mixed with sesame sauce garlic and lemon juice), Tabbouli( a medley of chopped Italian parsley mixed with tomatoes, burghol, onions, lemon juice, mint and olive oil) falafel and more. Everything is really fresh tasting. The Shish Tawook and cabbage salad are delightful choices too. The Shish Tawook comes with a flavorful garlic spread.
Along with the Maamul varieties of dates and walnut, I have a cup of Turkish coffee. My preference for dessert is the date version of the Maamul. Skaf's Grill is located at 6008 Laurel Canyon Blvd. It opens for lunch Monday through Saturday at 11 AM and closes at 9PM.
