Update 4/23/14: According to My Fox 8 News, a $3,600 reward has been offered by the Furever Friends Animal Adoption and Outreach organization for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this crime.

According to Wednesday's My Fox 8 News, a family's dog was the victim of unimaginable cruelty in Germanton, N.C., last weekend.

Scotty, an Australian shepherd, was discovered on Saturday night in the Caudle family's yard. Someone had tortured the four-year-old dog and left his body for the family to find.

According to the report, Scotty had been shot multiple times, beaten and dragged.

Joy Caudle, who had been caring for the dog after her parents went to an assisted living facility, described the victimized dog to My Fox 8:

He always greeted you at your car door,

Such a loving, caring dog.”

Nobody was home when Scotty was killed and the family does not know of anyone who would target them for such a cruel act. The Forsyth County Sheriff's Department and the local animal control is investigating the incident.
