Do you ever feel that there isn't enough opportunity to see comedians in Norfolk, Virginia? This weekend the comedy scene is coming to Norfolk. Three venues, three nights, nine shows. Downtown Norfolk, Virginia will be roaring with laughter as the Push Comedy Theater and the Generic Theater present the 3rd Annual Norfolk Comedy Festival from July 24 through July 26, 2014. Start the festival this Thursday night with Locals Only Sketch and Improv featuring local improv groups such as "Not Quite Nobody: Teen Improv", "Nerd Alert", "Absolute Uncertainty" and more. Friday's headliner is F. Alex Scott of HBO's Def Comedy Jam fame and Saturday's is Matt Ward of Cape Fear Comedy Festival fame. Regional talent such as Neko White, Tim Loulies and others will be warming up the crowd for their respective feature acts. You can also check out "Squirm and Germ", a high energy music duo hailing from New York City, New York as well as "We're From Here" . Both nights will feature a Sketch and Improv Spectacular featuring Hampton Roads' own, "The Pushers", as well as "Cats Hugging Cats" and Richmond's own "Coalition Theater". Over the weekend you can also check out workshops with Andy Livengood, "Squirm and Germ" and others. Shows will be featured at The Push Comedy Theater, The Generic Theater and the FM Restaurant.
