Norfolk Admirals return home Friday to battle Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins

The Norfolk Admirals return home Friday, February 8 for games against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Their short road trip last weekend resulted in two losses and the team hopes to pick up the sticks and bring home some wins this weekend.

Last Friday night, the Adirondack Phantoms snapped the Admirals’ 3-game winning streak with a 5 to 2 game. Saturday, Admirals’ Peter Holland scored the opening goal, which would be the only goal for Norfolk that night against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The goal marked the 100th career point for Holland. Bridgeport went ahead 4-1 in that game.

The Admirals are now fifth in the East Division standings with an 18-23-2-1, 39-point record. They are 15th in the Eastern Conference. Heading into Friday night’s game, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is third in the East Division and 6th in the Eastern Conference. Their record is currently at 24-18-2-1 with 51 points.

The Penguins have won nine of their last 10 games. The Admirals hope to even that out more in their favor this weekend.

Friday night marks the second Military Appreciation Night at the Scope, presented by USAA. Tickets for all active or retired military, their dependents and reservists with valid military ID can receive special reduced ticket prices.

It’s been a roller-coaster ride for the Admirals thus far this year. The team hopes to gain back their momentum on home ice this weekend to carry them up out of the AHL standings basement.

Come out and support the Norfolk Admirals this weekend and help cheer them on to victory.

After the games at Scope this Friday and Saturday, the Admirals will travel to Pennsylvania to play the Hershey Bears on Sunday.
