With Christmas Eve almost here, many people will want to get an idea of where Santa's sleigh and reindeer might be on the globe delivering everyone's gifts. Luckily, special technology exists to help everyone keep an eye on Mr. Claus as he makes his worldwide journey ahead of the big day.

According to Holiday Gift Nation on Dec. 23, the NORAD Santa tracking begins in less than 12 hours from now as individuals attempt to locate where Santa is on his journey. The site also notes there are special Santa tracking apps available for Android-based mobile devices such as the Kindle Fire HD or Google Nexus 7 tablets, as well as those in the iOS area. So Apple iPad or iPhone users will also have the ability to track Santa as he flies around the planet.

A recent check at the official NORAD Santa website gives those who want to track the jolly ol' Saint Nicholas other options to make the time go by as they wait for the tracking to begin. That includes special exploration of the North Pole, which features a daily game, music, stories, articles and videos about Santa or NORAD. Not to mention it allows viewers to look-in on an interactive globe to see Santa's latest path, where he is, and when he'll be in other areas of the world.

For those wondering, NORAD originated in way back in 1958, taking over from the Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD) who first started to track Santa’s trek from the North Pole through the skies to deliver presents across the world in 1955. NORAD stands for NORAD, which stands for , normally tracks airplanes, missiles, space launches and other “flying objects” around North America. They apparently started to track Santa by accident, and have never stopped with the tradition, which has now become hi-tech in nature.

As of this report, the Santa Tracker Christmas app by Onteca Limited at Amazon's website ranks as the #1 app in Entertainment, as many parents and kids are adding it to their devices in order to keep an eye on Santa Claus over the course of Christmas Eve.
