The NORAD Santa Tracker 2009 checks out where Santa is right now. NORAD will track Santa this year on their website, so children and adults around the world can see where he is. The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) will track Santa as he makes his annual journey throughout the world.
According to NORAD’s website, Santa and his reindeer will be tracked with radar as soon as they leave the North Pole.
“Amazingly, Rudolph’s bright red nose gives off an infrared signature, which allow our satellites to detect Rudolph and Santa,” the NORAD site states.
“Canadian NORAD fighter pilots flying the CF-18 intercept welcome Santa to North America. In the United States, American NORAD fighter pilots in either the F-15 or the F-16 get the thrill of flying alongside Santa and his famous reindeer,” the website states.
The net buzz on this story is hot because today is Christmas Eve, and people want to know where Santa is. Google Earth will also track Santa this year (see the link through the NORAD website). See the video below for more information or visit the NORAD website.
