Nora Roberts, past winner of nineteen RITA® and Golden Medallion awards from the Romance Writers of America (RWA), received her twentieth RITA award for her 2008 bestseller, Tribute, at the 2009 RWA conference. According to the Mitzi Writes blog, seeing Nora Roberts and her editor, Putnam’s Leslie Gelbman, “walk hand in hand up to the stage” to accept the award was one of the best moments of the conference.
Roberts' award winner, Tribute, tells the story of Cilla McGowan, a restorer of old houses whose current project involves bringing back from near ruin the Shenandoah Valley home in which her grandmother, movie legend Janet Hardy, once lived. A discovery of old letters in the attic leads Cilla and her attractive neighbor, graphic novelist Ford Sawyer, into an investigation of the 30-year-old mystery surrounding Janet Hardy’s death.
Lifetime Television included Tribute among the four adaptations of Nora Roberts novels that premiered in 2009. Lifetime’s Tribute features Brittany Murphy as Cilla, Jason Lewis as Ford and Christian Oliver as Cilla’s ex-husband, Steve.
