Nora Roberts' 'Tribute' chosen for Penguin's 2011 Read Pink™ campaign

Demonstrating its support for the research and public awareness efforts of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Penguin Group USA will launch its second annual Read Pink™ campaign in October 2011. Along with Penguin’s pledge of a $25,000 donation to the foundation, the publisher will use Breast Cancer Awareness Month to issue special “Read Pink” editions of eight popular titles by women authors.

Penguin will include Nora Roberts’ romantic suspense novel Tribute in this promotion. Roberts’ work, first published in 2008, provided the basis for a 2009 Lifetime Television movie starring Brittany Murphy.

Joining Tribute in Penguin’s campaign are Bertrice Small’s The Border Lord's Bride, Amanda Quick’s The Perfect Poison, Lynn Kurland’s With Every Breath, Catherine Anderson’s Early Dawn, Lauren Willig's The Secret History of the Pink Carnation, Christina Dodd’s Danger in a Red Dress and Jillian Hunter’s A Duke's Temptation.

Each of these selected titles carries a Read Pink seal on its cover and includes additional information about Penguin's support of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The mass market paperback edition of each title will retail for $7.99.

Roberts added her personal endorsement of the Read Pink campaign to Penguin's website."To all the moms and daughters, wives and sisters, lovers and friends, Read Pink is here for you and yours. Help support breast cancer awareness and the strong, brave women who fight or will fight this disease and Read Pink in October," she urged.

According to Publishers Weekly, during its 2010 Read Pink campaign, Penguin issued 400,000 copies of books bearing the Read Pink seal. That promotion also included a Nora Roberts novel, Angels Fall (2006) which, like Tribute, became a Lifetime Television movie.
