Those who enjoy reading electronic versions of Nora Roberts' books received welcome news from her Penguin Group (USA) publishers yesterday. In January 2012 Penguin’s Berkley/New American Library division will launch InterMix, a new imprint specializing in e-books. InterMix’s first release will be eleven of Nora Roberts’ older titles, all of which were originally published as Silhouette Romances.
InterMix’s January offerings will include titles from three of Roberts' Silhouette series. E-books will be issued for her four Cordina’s Royal Family titles – Affaire Royale (1986), Command Performance (1987), The Playboy Prince (1987) and Cordina's Crown Jewel (2002), for her four Donovan Legacy books – Captivated (1992), Entranced (1992), Charmed (1992) and Enchanted (1999), and for three books from her O’Hurleys series – Skin Deep (1988), Dance to the Piper (1988) and Without a Trace (1990).
InterMix plans to issue a second wave of Roberts' Silhouette titles as e-books in April 2012. Seven books from her MacGregors series will be released at that time.
According to a Berkley/NAL press release issued Oct. 19, 2011, InterMix will offer both previously published titles from established authors like Roberts as well as new, original works. Genres represented in its publications will include women’s fiction, romance, mystery, thriller, and science fiction/fantasy. Although Intermix will specialize in works available for the first time in the e-book format, Berkley suggests that the company could eventually offer print publications too.
According to Berkley Publishing Group president Leslie Gelbman, "InterMix is a natural extension of what we have been doing for years – energetically publishing bestselling authors and introducing readers to talented new writers we think will one day become bestsellers themselves. ... The books we publish under the InterMix imprint will meet the same standard we apply when acquiring books for Berkley/NAL – great stories, told well."
