Variety confirmed this weekend what many had speculated, that Noomi Rapace (“Prometheus”) would be joining Tom Hardy (“The Dark Knight Rises”) in the upcoming “Animal Rescue.”
The adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s (“Gone Baby Gone”) short story, to be directed by Michael Roskam, will relocate from the usual Massachusetts backdrop to New York.
The film pits Hardy as a criminal attempting to reform his ways when he gets caught up in a heist gone wrong and a murder, all resulting from a lost and contested pit bull.
Noomi Rapace will star as Nadia, a scarred woman who lives near where Hardy’s character finds a wounded puppy.
I think this is pretty solid casting as both have delivered incredible performances in the past (Tom Hardy in “Warrior” was phenomenal), and I can’t wait to see what kind of chemistry they might have.
