Downtown Reno ROCKED on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 as "Nonpoint", "In This Moment" and "Taking Dawn" w/ Special Guest "Mnemonic" played at The Knitting Factory Concert House. (Reno's #1 club)
"Nonpoint", stylized as nonpoint is a four-piece Alternative Metal Band originating from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They formed in 1997,
Elias Soriano (vocals), Rob Rivera (guitar), Ken MacMillian (bass / vocals) and Zack Broderick (drums) played a 90 min. plus set that was loud and fast paced, just the way a metal show should be.
The 12 song set went like this,
"Dangerous Waters"' "Witness", "What a day", "Side with the Guns", "Shadow", "Victim", "Explain Myself", "Miracle", "5 Min's. Alone", "Spanish 101", "Alive and Kicking" and "Bullit with a Name".
Also headlining were "In This Moment",
In This Moment is an American metalcore band from Los Angeles, California formed in 2005. They have released three albums to date, all with Century Media Records.
Maria Brink (vocals), Chris Howdrth (lead guitar / vocals), Blake Bunzel (guitar / vocals), Jeff Fabb (drums) and Kyle Konkiel (bass) played an 11 song set that lasted well over 60 minutes.
These guys had a bad start with the sound and had to change out a bass drum midway thru their set, Chris Howdrth was visibly upset with the crew. After a few adjustments, they finally got going. To bad it took most of their set.
The set went like this,
"Just Drive", "Blazin", "Iron Army", "Beautiful Day", "Standing Alone", "Forever", "Remember", "Prayers", "Promise", "Gun Show" and "Daddy's Falling Angel".
Starting the night off was "Taking Dawn"
Taking Dawn are a Heavy Metal band from Las Vegas, Nevada. They are currently signed to major American record label, Roadrunner Records since 2009. Taking Dawn toured the UK in 2010 in support of "Airbourne' in March and "KISS" in May. The band was originally called "7th Son".
Chris Babbitt (vocals / guitar), Mikey Cross (guitar / vocals), Andrew Cushing (bass / vocals) and Alan Doucette (drums) really got the 400 plus metalheads rocking.
This examiner has seen these guys a few times and they get better each time, it's time for them to start headlining as I feel they stole the show !!! To bad they only got around 45 min's stage time. THEY ROCKED THE KNIT ....
