If the lineup of bands already announced through March is any indication, Boise is in for a booming year for top-notch musical events. One of the first big shows of the new year will be held Friday, February 1 at The Knitting Factory.
Radio station, 100.3 the X kicks off another year of “free” shows with Nonpoint and Candlelight Red. Simply listen to the station for a chance to win your own pair of tickets to this event.
A revitalized Nonpoint returned this October with its seventh studio album, which has already spawned the hits "I Said It" and "Left For You". The fact that the album was self-titled is not surprising as it represents in many ways a rebirth for the band. Nonpoint is the first album to showcase the band’s new line-up which includes founding members Elias Soriano (vocals) and Robb Rivera (drums); as well as new members, bassist Adam Woloszyn and guitarists Rasheed Thomas and Dave Lizzio.
Nonpoint always puts on a raw and aggressive live show that will spike your adrenaline, rattle your morrow, and leave you physically drained.
Candlelight Red, who performed at this summer's Xfest Uproar Festival, returns to the Treasure Valley as well. The band has recently been holed up with Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose recording the band’s next album. The new record will be the follow-up to the band's 2011 debut, "The Wreckage" and 2012 EP, "Demons”. Boise will get a double dose of candlelight red as they are slated to return in March with Sevendust and Lacuna Coil.
