British designer Misha Nonoo’s spring 2014 collection was a mix of soft, pastel prints with sharp, tailored looks. The collection was full of pretty seas of pastels with hints of sheer detailing, florals, and metallic. The walkway entrance was decorated like a lush garden; as the models entered the stage it appeared as if they were walking straight out of the Secret Garden.
Nonoo described the collection as playful and colorful “this season was all about soft, deconstructed tailoring. The designer said she drew her inspiration from artist Gerhard Richter's innovative and unpredictable style."I think that that's so interesting as an artist to not continue to do the same thing but to innovate and push boundaries," she said. "It was very much inspired by his color palette and the idea of this strength and femininity that you find in women."
She chose to style the models hair “undone, and messy.” Misha explained, “this girl is confident; she's busy and comfortable in her own skin. She's brilliant and really leading this active lifestyle so she's not bothered with how she looks.”
Successful piece included a crisp white shirt-dress with a soft, pleated chiffon panel at the shoulder and skirt. The minty greens and yellow were appropriately seasonal and feminine.
