It was a big weekend for the movie industry as the Oscars were held on Sunday night. It was also a big weekend at the box office as three movies were able to reach double digits. Including two new movies.

Non-Stop took home the top spot this weekend with an estimated $30 million. The movie shows that no matter what kind of movie that Liam Neeson does (and no matter how many times we’ve seen him in similar movies), people will still go and see him be the big hero of the day.

The other two movies that reached double digits are Son of God with an estimated $26.5 million which is a strong opening for the religious movie. The Lego Movie fell down two spots to the third spot with an estimated $21 million. The movie is currently highest grossing movie in 2014 so far with a total $209 million at the box office.

The other two movies to round out the top five are The Monuments Men with an estimated $5 million and 3 Days to Kill with an estimated $4.9 million.

March is a big month for movies and it’s going to be fun to watch as the movies compete for the top spot every weekend.
