Nokian Tyres new concept tire

See also

Nokian Tyres have a concept that can make icy roads less nerve racking. The revolutionary tire has studs protrude from the tires with a push of a button.

The studs would allow tires to become more than just rubber on a rim. The studs are mounted directly into the tire itself and when activated by a touch of a button, narrow pins extend out to give traction to the driver.

Now, it is uncertain with what could happen if one of the pins mounted into the tire were to puncture the tire itself, but overall the concept is something that most of us would appreciate.

In the video it shows how even on a sheet of ice you would be able to stop in mere seconds.
