Nokia Lumia 929 'Icon' Verizon product page leaks again as release date nears

Verizon’s exclusive Nokia Lumia 929 also known as the “Nokia Lumia Icon” popped up briefly on the carrier’s website Tuesday (Jan. 21) for the second time. It was just a few weeks ago that the anticipated Windows Phone 8 smartphone was spotted on Verizon’s site, a hint that a U.S. release date is near.

As in the previous premature posting, Verizon listed the Nokia Lumia Icon with a price of $777, both on and off-contract with free shipping. It’s unlikely that the phone would sell for the same price off contract as it does under a 2-year agreement. The product page leak reveals that the Nokia Lumia Icon will be available in a black or white color variant and Verizon is offering customers free shipping.

Interestingly, as IBTimes reports, the unannounced Verizon brand phone is already selling in China for ¥3,800 which converts to $628 in the United States. Earlier reports were that the release date of the Nokia Lumia Icon was pushed back to February, pending finalization of Microsoft’s acquisition of Nokia’s mobile division.

Although no official announcement was made about the upcoming device, leaks and rumors have left nothing to the imagination about the hardware specs. The final detail remaining is its imminent release date, which could arrive sooner than we think. As a reminder, the Lumia 928 successor is a smaller version of rival carrier AT&T's 6-inch Nokia 1520. Check out the rundown of the Nokia Lumia Icon’s specs according to WPCentral:
