The twitter account for @evleaks got its hands on some photos of the new Nokia Lumia 1520 and the phone certainly looks like Windows Phone fans are going to want to get their hands on it. The handset is currently codenamed Bandit and there have been photos floating around online for a while now. Those pictures weren't nearly as clear as what evleaks managed to release.
These new pictures show exactly what the Lumia 1520 will look like, complete with a yellow housing. Both front and back images are made available in a way that looks like the company’s personal promotional images. There is a rear facing camera that mimics the current design of other handsets in the Lumia line.
The device looks to be sporting a 6-inch display and there are rumors that it will also have 1080p resolution. Other reports around the web say that this new phone is sporting a Qualcomm quad-core Snapdragon processor. This is a Windows Phone and that means it will also have the latest version of Microsoft Windows 8 as its operating system.
There is actually a bit of a change on the UI with the latest release of Windows 8 for the smartphones. Named GDR3, there is another row of live tiles on the start screen that is specially geared for 1080p support.
While there isn’t an official release date for this particular model, rumors are that AT&T is moving right along in the testing phase and that the handset should be available by the end of the year. Expect the Nokia Lumia 1520 to hit the market before Black Friday in order to take advantage of the holiday shopping season.
