Epilepsy? Check. Taking essential medications that eat away at her bones? Check. Four hip surgeries? Check. Meniscus removed from her left knee? Check. Never giving up and pushing through the pain, all the while with a smile on her face? Check, Check! Noevia Lopez’s accolades reach far above and beyond being a mother, professional dancer, certified fitness instructor and owner of her own Pilates and fitness studio. Her accomplishments defy the concepts of surrender and resignation, and inspire her students, friends, family and acquaintances in a way that is positive, persuasive and everlasting. In her own right, Noevia has become a healer and advisor for people of all ages and athletic abilities, and along with her work and life partner Jesse Wilson, has created the perfect environment for people to get help, get well or perfect their form at the Pilates N Harmony studio in Hollywood, Florida.
As a former dancer from the American Ballet Theatre, Noevia began dancing at the age of three and performed on stage beside Mikhail Baryshnikov in a performance of the Nutcracker at the age of seven. Noevia went on to explore various different forms of dance and movement from classical jazz to tap, and also became a certified fitness & aerobics instructor, resulting in her very own segment on Telemundo, “Enforma con Noevia.”
With all of the highs that have come with a prominent career, come the lows of a failing body that will no longer cooperate. Throughout Noevia’s journey down a long road of pain and recovery, it has been the practice of Pilates* that would bring her back from the brink of darkness, on both a physical and emotional level. Giving her the balance and inner and outer strength needed to re-learn how to walk yet again and again, Pilates has not only helped with Noevia’s rehabilitation, but is also the impetus behind her revival and the resurgence of quality South Florida Pilates instruction with an edge.
While others would have been down and out for the count with the large amount of complex surgeries Noevia has had to endure, the power of Pilates became quite evident to not only Noevia, but to her students, as well. From major hip surgery in Belgium in October 2012, back to teaching at her studio in less than three months’ time, Noevia has proven that anything and everything is possible.
Noevia’s teaching style is so special not only because of her professional dance and fitness background, but because of the detailed medical knowledge, wisdom and experience she has gained from all of her personal trials and tribulations. Add to that her amazing disposition and fiery personality, and you have innovative instruction that is provided with passion, genuine care and true resolve. A true testament to the effects of power, positivity and perseverance, Noevia and the Pilates N Harmony family will educate and elevate you, while helping you to feel your absolute best.

*The practice of Pilates is designed to engage your breath, concentration and core muscles while you stretch and strengthen your entire body. The approach is not only graceful and easy on your joints, but also equally challenging and intense. When performed properly under the correct supervision, Pilates’ exercises can restore the natural curvature of the spine and ease pressure and pain from joints and tight muscles.
