Last week on Days, EJ broke the news to Stefano that he’d made a deal with God and called a truce with Sami. Stefano asked how long he intended to keep things civil with Sami and EJ said he wouldn’t break his promise. Kate entered the room and Stefano told EJ she would be staying there to help take care of him. Kate nagged Stefano to test his blood sugar. Carly called EJ and said she was ready to take Johnny’s bandages off.
EJ, Nicole, Rafe and Sami gathered at the hospital. Lexi warned EJ that even if Johnny could see, his vision would probably be impaired. Sami and EJ went into Johnny’s room where Daniel removed the bandages, held up two fingers and asked Johnny if he could tell how many fingers he was holding up.
“Ten… two up and eight down,” Johnny said proudly as EJ, Sami and Carly laughed. Carly stood further back and asked Johnny how many fingers she was holding up. Johnny said it was too far to see and Carly assured him he was doing well. Sami and EJ hugged their son and said they’d throw him a party. Rafe entered the room and gave Johnny and FBI baseball cap. EJ went out into the hall and, overcome with joy, kissed Nicole and thanked her for spotting the cancer in Johnny’s eye. Nicole smiled. EJ called the judge and told him he and Nicole were postponing the wedding. The smile fell from Nicole’s face.
EJ went back into Johnny’s room. Johnny asked if he was going to be friends with his mommy now. EJ said he was. Johnny asked about Rafe. Before EJ could answer, Carly came back in to examine Johnny. EJ left and muttered that he and Sami would be friends, but Rafe was another matter.
Sami cautiously approached Nicole and thanked her for her part in helping Johnny. Nicole said it was about Johnny, that he was the only one that mattered. Now that Sami had called a truce with EJ, she added, Nicole wouldn’t be a part of Sydney and Johnny’s lives anymore. As Sami remarked that it must be difficult for her, Nicole told Sami that she won. Nicole went to the DiMera mansion and played with Sydney, telling her she would always love her. Nicole stopped by Chloe’s apartment and filled her in on what was happening. Chloe suggested Nicole talk to Brady because she was certain he still loved her.
Nicole went to the Kiriakis mansion. Brady answered the door but wouldn’t let her in. Nicole explained what was happening and begged and pleaded with Brady to help her keep Sydney in her life. Brady insisted he was done helping Nicole. She cried and told him she loved him, but he told her to leave and slammed the door in her face. Nicole went back to the hospital to check on Johnny and told him she’d always be there for him. Nicole read to Johnny until he fell asleep as EJ looked on. EJ told Nicole they needed to talk because everything had changed. She assumed EJ meant that their wedding was off. EJ told her that, despite calling a truce with Samantha, he knew Nicole loved his kids and would make an excellent stepmother. Nicole said she’d heard EJ telling the judge the wedding was off, but EJ said that was because he wanted to get married in a church. Confused, Nicole accepted his offer.
Rafe walked into his apartment just as Gabi and Will hurriedly pulled apart from their makeout session. They played innocent, but Ali told Rafe they’d been kissing. Rafe lectured Will and told him to treat Gabi right or else he’d answer to her brother and his stepdad. There was a knock on the door and Rafe opened it to find EJ standing in the hall with Sydney. EJ said he brought Sydney over to prove to Sami that he was keeping his word. When Rafe said Sami was visiting Caroline and then spending the night with Johnny, EJ suggested they keep Sydney overnight so Sami could have breakfast with both their girls. EJ left and muttered, “Like a train they never saw coming” as Will and Rafe wondered if EJ really had changed.
Jennifer and Ben had coffee at the Brady Pub and she casually asked about his involvement with the women’s prison. Ben asked why she cared and Jennifer said she was thinking of volunteering there. Ben warned her to stay away from the prison because she was sweet, kind and beautiful. Jennifer blushed and said it had been awhile since she’d heard those words. Ben said there was something wrong with her husband. Nathan showed up and Ben asked him to convince Jennifer to volunteer at the hospital instead. Nathan said Jennifer had volunteered there for years. Ben shot Jennifer a suspicious look. Jennifer changed the subject quickly.
As Melanie and Stephanie fought in Maggie’s kitchen, Brady showed up and broke it up. He asked a fuming Stephanie to leave and comforted Melanie. Melanie admitted she was pregnant and wasn’t sure what she was going to do. Brady told her he’d support her no matter what. Stephanie went to the Brady Pub where she overheard Nathan turning down his job offer at Johns Hopkins. Stephanie said she couldn’t believe Nathan was turning the job down for Melanie, who would only hurt him. Nathan warned her to stay out of his business and stop blaming everything on Melanie. Stephanie said she couldn’t believe she’d thought Nathan was worth everything she’d done.
Phillip ran into Chloe at the pier and asked where Parker was. Chloe said he was with a sitter because she’d gone to the hospital intending to ambush Daniel, who wasn’t taking her calls. Phillip asked her to let him babysit next time. Chloe warned Phillip to stay away from Parker or Daniel would never take her back. Phillip said that wasn’t going to happen anyway. Chloe said Phillip needed to talk to Melanie because she might be pregnant and that was the baby he should be raising. Phillip went straight to Maggie’s and when Melanie answered the door, asked her if it was true. Melanie finally admitted she was pregnant and she’d made up her mind to keep the baby. Phillip begged her to let him be a part of the baby’s life and to take him back so they could be a family, but Melanie kicked him out and told him she didn’t love him and never would again.
Melanie went to Daniel’s, where she found her father lecturing Chloe after Chloe’s botched attempt at seducing him. Melanie glared at Chloe as Daniel kicked her out and asked for his key back. Melanie broke the news to Daniel about carrying Phillip’s baby. As she sobbed into his shoulder, Daniel told her it would be OK. He said she couldn’t go through her entire pregnancy in a state of distress and suggested she make peace with Phillip for her sake. He also said he’d tell Carly so she wouldn’t have to.
Melanie begrudgingly called Phillip and had him come to Daniel’s apartment. She apologized for letting her anger get the best of her and said she wouldn’t shut him out of his child’s life entirely. Phillip once again begged for her to take him back, but she reminded him that he’d slept with her father’s wife. Phillip left and Melanie said to herself, “How can you think I’d ever be with you again after what you did?”
Daniel broke the news to Carly that Melanie was pregnant. Carly thanked him for telling her and asked how she was. Daniel said physically, she was fine. Carly thanked Daniel for telling him. He said he’d never shut her out of their daughter’s life.
Jane tortured Bo in a basement as he resisted the effects of the truth serum. Bo pretended to tell Jane where Hope was, but when Jane returned, she yelled at Bo for sending her on a wild goose chase. Bo grinned and said Hope must have moved as Jane prepared to torture him more. Finally, Jane said she’d have to call the big boss and see what he wanted her to do with Bo. Meanwhile, Leo went back to the boat to check on Hope. He gave her a cell phone that couldn’t be traced. Hope admitted Bo had gone to spy on Jane and hadn’t returned. Leo went to the meeting place, called Hope and said there were signs of a struggle. Desperate, Hope made a phone call. At the pub, Nathan heard a phone ringing and answered it. Hope hung up.
Maggie went to the Kiriakis mansion to pick up Melanie’s things. Victor said he was sorry Phillip had hurt Melanie. Maggie noticed the map on the table and asked Victor about it. She asked if it had anything to do with Vivian’s absence. Victor played stupid, but Maggie saw through it. She asked if the “VA” written on the map had anything to do with Vivian and quickly realized they’d put Vivian on an island. Victor swore Kate masterminded the plan, he just didn’t intend to do anything about it. Maggie said the right thing to do would be to bring Vivian back. She offered to go to dinner with Victor, just the two of them, if he’d rescue Vivian. Later, Victor asked Brady if he’d bring Vivian back. Brady refused, wondering why he’d want Vivian back. When he realized it was because of Maggie, Brady called Victor a hypocrite who let Maggie lead him by the nose. He stormed out of the mansion and said he’d bring Vivian back for his own reasons.
An irate Chloe went to Stephanie’s apartment. Stephanie didn’t want to let her in, but Chloe pushed past her and started screaming. Caroline came out and Chloe yelled that she’d ruined her life. Stephanie warned her that Caroline had just had a stroke and she wouldn’t tolerate her talking to her grandmother that way. Chloe continued to rant about how she was planning on telling Daniel the truth if Parker wasn’t his, but Caroline had ruined her chances at happiness. Stephanie called Phillip and warned him to come get Chloe or she’d call the cops. Phillip arrived and escorted a screeching Chloe out of the apartment. He took her to the pier so she could calm down.
Nathan went to Maggie’s and asked for advice about Melanie. He said he didn’t see why they couldn’t be together now that they were both single. Maggie suggested Nathan talk to Melanie about it. Nathan went to Daniel’s apartment and knocked on the door. Melanie answered and asked what he wanted. Nathan demanded to know why they couldn’t be together. Melanie said, “I’m pregnant with Phillip’s baby and I’m keeping it” before closing the door in Nathan’s face.
