Morgan James will perform a solo show for one night only, this evening at 7:30, at the Fairmont Hotel's Venetian Room on Nob Hill. The elegant and quintessential San Francisco experience is part of the Bay Area Cabaret series. This unique series brings up and coming professionals and established Broadway singers to San Francisco usually for one show only, a thrilling opportunity to encounter these talents so far from their normal venues yet up close and personal. The soloists have guests, tell anecdotes, maybe even dance a little or shake hands and sign autographs. Jim Brickman is returning to a different venue in the City and he posed happily for photos with fans.
Most recently, Chita Rivera celebrated her 80th birthday with a raucous solo show.

Morgan James currently performs in the Broadway show Motown: The Musical. She released her first solo album last year, a tribute to Nina Simone.
James comes from Modesto and trained at Julliard in opera. She moved into jazz, pop and cabaret and appeared in 'The Addams Family' with Nathan Lane.
This is a rare chance to catch her in her home state on a gorgeous spring evening in San Francisco. The Fairmont offers a buffet dinner which includes parking at $40 per person. The buffet may be enjoyed before or after the show. Parking alone cost $35 in the Fairmont garage and it's nice to park close to the hotel as the hill is a steep climb in heels and a dress. For the dinner, call (415) 772-5260.
The room itself serves drinks such as champagne, wine, mixed drinks and creamy delights such as Bailey's or Kahlua or amaretto and cream on the rocks.
The show tonight starts at 7:30.
Tickets cost $48.
