Nob Hill Nights: tonight and every 1st Thursday

Nob Hill Nights is the 1st Thursday of every month

Useful info

Imagine an evening where Central Avenue shuts down. The busy rumble of cars is silenced and the streets are alight and bursting with business, music and flavor. Welcome to Albuquerque's Nob Hill Nights.

What better way to experience Historic Route 66 than at this street fair style evening event, which has only been going on Central Ave. in Nob Hill since October of this year. Tonight's event will be the second try at what was a very successfully night of shopping, eating and exploration last month. It was so successful, in fact, that the Nob Hill Nights organizers decided to make it a monthly gig, with another one sheduled for Thursday, December 3.

The event is free to everyone and takes place along Central Ave. between Carlisle and Girard (that's the good bit). Tonight's theme is "Home & Harvest Festival" and will feature furnishings and home decor from a number of the shops and businesses located along that stretch of Central. New luxury lofts, The Place in Nob Hill will host an open house showing one of its units fully decorated in the same local offerings available at street level.

La Montanita Coop will be open, with special offering of fresh produce and a showcase of local farmers, as well as a cheese making demonstration (count me in!). Finally, eclectic local Chicano band, Wagogo, will be playing an outdoor gig on the street.

Since Central will be shut down, organizers have arranged for ample parking alternatives. There is plenty of street parking on Central east of Carlisle, while three parking lots will be open in upper Nob Hill, as well as the parking lot at Monte Visa Christian Church (only a 5 minute walk to the event).

I'm seeing advertisements saying that Nob Hill Shop N Stroll is on Thursday, Dec 2nd, not on Dec 3rd?... Could someone please clarify which date is correct? Thanks.
