Joakim Noah will miss his his second game of the season as the Bulls take on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Noah sat out Monday morning's shootaround because of illness and was a game-time decision, but didn't take the floor prior to tip off to warmup. Taj Gibson will get his fifth start of the season in place of Noah.
Kirk Hinrich will also miss his fourth straight game, still recovering from a sore right hamstring. He will travel with the team on their six-game road trip beginning on Wednesday in San Antonio. He expects to play at some point on the trip.
"I’m doing better. I’ve made significant progress, so I’m definitely happy about that," Hinrich said. "I’m hoping to get better and not have anything linger, and hopefully be able to finish the second half out strong.
"My plan is to (play on the trip). I’m not going to take anything off the table, be cautious because it’s something I’ve had in the past. But at the same time, just keep pushing myself so I can be ready as soon as possible."
The Bulls (22-21) will start D.J. Augustin, Jimmy Butler, Mike Dunleavy, Carlos Boozer and Gibson.
