No vacation time coming and can’t call in sick!
That sounds like the end of a rough year. How worn out must that person be?
Except I am not referring to a person, but to the gospel. The gospel is to be preached in season and out of season.
Translation: The gospel is always in season even when people do not want to hear it.
Many in the last days will want someone to preach to their itching ears. They will want people to tell them what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear.
But we who follow Jesus are to proclaim the good news of life in Jesus Christ wherever we go, whenever that may be, and without regard to the fact that people may prefer to be told that they are just fine just the way we are.
As Christians, we meet people where they are, but we should not be content to leave them there.
We should challenge and encourage others to take hold of the life that is truly life.
Repent of the ways of this world and follow Jesus.
That is our message spring, summer, fall, winter. The gospel is always in season. That includes football, basketball, baseball, and even the holiday season.
For the gospel takes no holiday or vacation.
For those who are following Jesus, we are always equipped to share the gospel.
That’s a fact, Jack and Joe and Joan and Jeanne and Jose. That’s a fact and our mission.
The good news is always in season!
It is time to preach good news!
