Nathan Gary of Sony Santa Monica clarified on Twitter yesterday that there’s no PlayStation 4 version of “Journey” and “The Unfinished Swan” in the works, despite what his feed suggested earlier.
This past weekend, Gary uploaded some shots of games running on the PS4 for his Twitter followers. One of which was the next-gen version of “Flower,” slatted for November 15th for the PS4 launch. Later, Gary tweeted out shots of “Journey” and “The Unfinished Swan,” which seemingly suggested these PlayStation 3 indie games were coming to the PS4. However, the creative director of Santa Monica tweeted Sunday those games were the original PS3 versions and not for the PS4.
Lots of people asking so I'll clarify. Was nostalgic playing the PS4 versions of the games so I busted out the PS3 to replay some others.
So it was flOw, Flower, and Escape Plan on the PS4-all looking, sounding, and playing great. Journey and Swan on PS3 both still fantastic.
This doesn’t necessarily rule out PS4 versions of “Journey” and “The Unfinished Swan” in the future (especially when PS3 digital content are non-transferable for the PS4), but they’re not being worked on at the moment.
